Shannon County Spelling Contest
About the Contest

The Shannon County Spelling Contest is held at the Rockyford School on Friday February 8, 2013, and is the largest contest hosted by the Shannon County School District. Previous contests have had close to 500 participants.

Students compete against other students in their age group from all over the reservation. Winners receive trophies and ribbons.

Letter to Educators for Guidelines


ATTENTION:

Each school is asked to send two members of your staff to the contest to serve in the capacity of judges. We request at least one of the two be a certified teacher.

On the preregistration sheet, identify the two judges and enter students as per instructions.

DUE TO LIMITED STAFF, LATE ENTRIES OR CHANGES ON THE DAY OF THE CONTEST WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED!!

This year, because of budget cuts, we are requesting a small fee of $2.00 per student to be included with the preregistration sheet.

This request will apply to any non-Shannon County School. The fee will be used to help cover the cost of the contest.
